What is DJ Software?
Think of DJ software as the DJ’s control center. It’s the app that turns your computer or tablet into a DJ booth.
Instead of playing music one song at a time, DJ software lets you:
Load two songs at once
Play them on two decks
Mix them together like a real DJ
Add cool sounds like loops and effects
Control the music using buttons, knobs, and sliders
Think of DJ software as the brain, and your DJ controller as the hands. They work together to make music magic.
What Do DJs Use DJ use DJ Software For?
DJs use DJ software to:
Choose songs from their music library
Match the speed of two songs so they sound good together
Fade from one song into another
Repeat parts of songs (loops)
Practice mixing at home
Play music at parties, shows, and dance floors

What software will be be using for training?
We’ll be using BEATCAMP Mixer while we learn the basics, then move onto more advanced software in the future.
BEATCAMP Mixer is a web-based app, meaning you don’t need to download anything, making it super convenient for getting started!
