BEATCAMP Support
Welcome to BEATCAMP. Below are answers to common questions about memberships, the BEATCAMP Mixer, and BEATCAMP Missions. If something still feels confusing, that’s okay. Learning new tools takes a little time.
Membership & Billing
What is a BEATCAMP membership?
A BEATCAMP membership gives you access to DJ lessons and Missions, the BEATCAMP Mixer, downloadable practice tracks and samples, and new lessons and features as they’re released. Memberships are designed for learning, not competition.
How does billing work?
- Memberships are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or yearly, depending on your plan).
- You can manage or cancel your membership at any time from your account page.
- There are no long-term contracts.
If you cancel, you’ll keep access until the end of your current billing period.
Is BEATCAMP safe for kids?
Yes. BEATCAMP is built specifically for Junior DJs and focuses on age-appropriate content, clean music, and a learning environment without social pressure or public comments.
I’m having trouble with billing. What should I do?
If something doesn’t look right with your membership or billing, double-check your account email, refresh the page, and try again. If you still need help, reach out to our support team.
We’re happy to help and don’t assume you did anything wrong.
BEATCAMP Mixer
What is the BEATCAMP Mixer?
The BEATCAMP Mixer is a simple, web-based DJ app designed to help beginners learn the fundamentals of DJing. It includes two decks, a mixer in the middle, and beginner-friendly controls for volume, EQ, loops, and samples. It runs directly in your browser with no software downloads required.
What devices and browsers work best?
For the best experience, use Chrome or Edge on a laptop or desktop computer. Chromebooks work especially well. Web MIDI support for DJ controllers works best in Chrome.
Can I use a DJ controller?
Yes. The BEATCAMP Mixer supports beginner-friendly DJ controllers such as the Numark DJ2GO2 Touch, Numark Party Mix II, and Hercules Inpulse 200. You can also use your computer keyboard, mouse, or trackpad. A controller is not required.
Where does my music come from?
In early lessons, you’ll download tracks directly from the BEATCAMP website and import them into the Mixer. We’ll explore DJ-friendly streaming services in later lessons.
For now, we start with downloaded files so you can focus on learning the basics without worrying about internet connections or permissions.
Why isn’t my sound playing?
- Make sure your volume is turned up.
- Check that your browser tab is not muted.
- Click anywhere in the Mixer (browsers require interaction to start audio).
- Try refreshing the page.
If you’re using a controller, unplug it and reconnect it.
Can I break anything?
No. You can’t break the BEATCAMP Mixer. Trying things, making mistakes, and experimenting is part of how DJs learn.
BEATCAMP Missions
What are Missions?
Missions are short, guided challenges that help you learn one DJ skill at a time. Examples include loading a track, pressing play, using the crossfader, and mixing one song into another. There are no timers, scores, or wrong answers.
Do I have to complete Missions in order?
We recommend starting at the beginning, but you’re always free to repeat Missions, skip ahead, or explore on your own. Learning isn’t a race.
What if I get stuck?
If a Mission feels confusing, reread the steps slowly, try again, or take a short break. DJing is about practice, not perfection.
Why are Missions so simple?
BEATCAMP is designed so curiosity matters more than being good right away. Confidence comes first, and advanced features come later.
